Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Today’s trek is relatively short but challenging, as you conquer the Barranco Wall. After descending the wall, you will traverse through scenic valleys and ridges before reaching the Karanga Camp, situated at an altitude of 4,035 meters. Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

As you leave the Karanga Camp, you will ascend towards the Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The trail becomes steeper, and the landscape transforms into a barren moonscape. After approximately six hours of hiking, you will reach the Barafu Camp, located at an altitude of 4,680 meters. Here, you will rest and prepare for the summit push, which begins in the early hours of the next morning.

Day 7: Summit Day and Descent to Mweka Camp

The summit day is the most challenging yet rewarding part of the journey. You will wake up before midnight and start the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 meters. The climb is arduous, but as you reach the summit, you will be greeted by the breathtaking sunrise, illuminating the vast African plains below. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend to the Mweka Camp, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, where you will spend the night.
